    • Unique, transthermal backing permits heat to escape faster than foam-backed pads reducing risk of unsafe temperature rise. Transthermal backing is also tearresistant for easy removal
    • Designed to be used on any patient where full skin contact and a suitable placement site can be obtained
    • Water-based, soft, hydrophilic conductive adhesive flows uniformly into skin crevices for reliable adhesion providing exceptional pad-to-skin contact
    • Non-conductive border adhesive surrounds the conductive area to maintain electrical isolation
    • Available with pre-attached cords and without cords, in split and solid styles

    3M™ Universal Electrosurgical Pads are designed to work with most electrosurgical units (ESUs) and most surgical applications where electrosurgery is utilized. The pads provide a safe return path for the electrosurgical current.

    3M innovative design features strong, gel-like adhesive for excellent skin-to-plate contact yet it allows easy release at removal.The 3M™ Universal Electrosurgical Pad 9130 is smaller in size and therefore easier for nurses to place on patients at suitable placement sites. The pad can be smaller because it features a new Safety Ring technology by 3M™, a patented coating technology that more uniformly distributes electrosurgical RF current over the conductive surface of the pad. 3M™ Safety Ring Technology also permits universal orientation: the pad may be oriented to the surgical site in any direction. The pad is small in size but maintains the safety of traditional pads up to 33% larger. It meets the performance criteria set forth by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) for Maximum Safe Temperature Rise.
