WoundClot ABC (Advanced Bleeding Control) is a sterile, biodegradable and pressure-free hemostatic bond that can be used to control a variety of bleeding from arterial bleeding. This hemostat is designed to be used in emergency care and, because of its ease of use, can also be used by untrained people. When wound, the band becomes gel-like, so it is easy to remove from the wound without damaging the natural clot or soft tissue stretching.

When WoundClot is placed over the leakage point and lightly pressed, it forms a gel adhering to the tissue, stopping the bleeding. The harder the bleeding, the better the hemostat attaches to the tissue. When bleeding is over, hemostat attachment in the wound is reduced, making it easy to remove. The gelled dressing is removed by inverting it in a wound using a water or saline solution. The dressing can be removed from the wound uniformly without damaging the natural clot or stretching the soft tissue.
